Tarot enthusiasts getting together to practice, discuss and learn. Based in Sydney’s inner west.

Find us on Facebook: Tarot Meetup (Sydney Area)

Join us for monthly meetups, study groups and workshops. This is a social gathering for informal discussion, sharing ideas and comparing decks. Those new to Tarot won’t learn to read the cards by coming along, but they will be able to observe others doing readings for each other and pick up some pointers. We’d love to meet you and introduce you to Tarot so please don’t be shy!

Next meetup: Sunday October 18, 2-4pm.

Topic: The ‘Death’ card. Do you tell people if you see bad news in their cards? Do you want to know if someone sees bad news in yours?

Question for Marina

I have had several readings with you and i have never come across such a great reader as you! I wanted to know an answer to one question…What will happen with me and a new male in my life named Abraham?

Thanks for the compliment!  (The cheque is in the mail…)

The card that comes up in relation to this question is the four of Swords which indicates a temporary situation.  I’m also getting the feeling that there may be someone else he is tied to in some way.

I asked if there was someone else coming soon who would be a long term partner and the answer was the 2 of Cups, which is called ‘Love’.  So the answer is that I don’t think Abraham is the one for you, but the real thing is not far away.

Question from Kristen

I am wanting to know some info about where my life is heading and this guy james (ex lover) i kind of regret ending it very conected to him but he became distant and it was to hard he lives interstate.  I’m wanting to know if I will ever see him again?

Hi Kirsten,

Thanks for the questions!  In relation to your life direction, the cards I drew are the 9 of Wands, Ace of Swords and The Fool.  The 9 of Wands suggests you have a great deal of energy that you need to put into something so you are probably feeling very hampered and hemmed in by your current circumstances.  The Ace of Swords relates to beginning something new that relates to the mind, so I suggest beginning a new course of study (I’m especially picking up something relating to health or medicine) and finally The Fool shows us that you are ready to embark on a new journey in your life, even though it may be a little risky or the outcome uncertain.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.  Make a decision, stick with it and the world will by your oyster.

Regarding James, I don’t see the connection between the two of you disappearing, but there is someone else coming into your life as a potential life partner and this man will be very reliable and dependable.  I think you will meet him through work or study but not until Spring 2010.

What’s happening?

Last year I had some health issues - every card I drew about it was a Sword! LOL!  In typical Gemini fashion, I ignored every warning until I fell in a heap with several health issues and compounded it with being hospitalised for back injury which also affected my neck, previously damaged in a car accident!

Do you think the universe was trying to tell me something? LOL!!  Last year was also a ‘3′ year for me numerologically and there were big lessons about self-nurturing, intuition and self-awareness.  This year is a 4 year for me, so I am looking forward to more stability.

2008 already!

I can’t believe it’s mid January already.  I haven’t even written down any new year’s resolutions.  I guess I had better save them for next year!

The first class of the year starts this Sunday.  I’m a little worried because it’s a smaller space than I would like, but there really aren’t too many rooms for hire at reasonable rates, plus I really wanted to be connected with a new age shop and centre again.  So many years in Mysterys’ HUGE workshop space has me spoilt, I think.  There were times we had 40 or more people in there.  So it will be quite strange going to a small, intimate group but it will have it’s benefits too.

The Reformation of the Establishment

This looks like a really interesting talk coming up at the Adyar Bookshop in Sydney next year.  Put it in your diary!

Pluto in Capricorn: The Reformation of the Establishment - Thu 17 Jan 2008

Talk starts at 6pm - 7.15pm

In 2006 the Establishment demoted Pluto to the status of dwarf planet, and in January 2008 Pluto enters Capricorn, the sign of the Establishment. Pluto’s influence is deep and transformative and the business world, governments and organisational structures with hierarchical power will all come under Pluto’s gaze. Spirituality v Violence

I don’t know about you but every time I read the news or watch it on tv, there seems to be more and more violence, bloodshed and terror around the world.  How can this be when so many people are embracing spirituality and becoming self-aware?  What happened to the idea of ‘critical mass’, where if enough people start to do something, it eventually slides into the mainstream and becomes commonplace? It’s nearly over!

I can hardly believe that our 24 week tarot course is nearly finished.  Our Thursday nights are the highlight of my week!  It really has been a wonderful journey and I have enjoyed every moment of it, and as usual, the teacher has probably learned more than her students. Read more »

The Empress (3)

3-the-empress.jpgThe Empress is the fourth card of the Major Arcana, although it is numbered 3.  (Remember The Fool is the first card and is numbered 0).

The Empress is linked to the The High Priestess but unlike the HPS, the Empress is a card of activity and movement. The basic meaning of this card is growth, prosperity and fertility as The Empress is ruled by Venus.  In a spread, this card can indicate pregnancy, luxury, abundance and acting on one’s internal guidance.
